International Baccalaureate (IB) is an international education organization founded in 1968. Being a non-profitable educational organization the headquarter of IB is located in Geneva, Switzerland. It is internationally accepted board for education, and has a worldwide accepted curriculum.

Programs offered by International Baccalaureate (IB) –

  • Primary Years Program (PYP) – This program is for IB’s youngest students where the students are enabled to learn about knowledge, concepts and skills from a variety of subjects to develop the attribute of learner profile. This program is for the students of KG to 5th when compared on a school standard basis
  • Middle Years Programs (MYP) – This program has a bit challenging framework than previous program, since it encourages students to establish practical connections between studies and real world. This program is for the students of class 6th to 10th when compared on a school standard basis

In final two years of high school, students can choose to enter any of the two:

  • Diploma Program (DP) – This program course is for the student who has completed their MYP, the curriculum emphasizes on breadth and depth of knowledge. This program is made up of six subject groups and a core, comprising theory of knowledge (TOK), creativity, activity, service (CAS) and a research paper of up to 4,000 words and the extended essay (EE)
  • Career-related Program (CP) – This program combines two IB diploma courses with school-based, career-related study. It enables students to pursue further education or equip them to choose their own career path immediately

  • The IB education organization is divided into three regional centres: IB Africa, Europe and Middle East (IBAEM), administered from The Hague; IB Americas (IBA), administered from Bethesda and Buenos Aires, Argentina; and IB Asia-Pacific (IBAP), administered from Singapore
  • IB affiliates approximately 3500 schools worldwide and 130 schools in India
  • The board is operational in more than 140 countries including countries like India, USA, UK and Australia
  • The board is recognized by UNESCO, Council of Europe and Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF)
  • IB specializes in major subject areas like Languages, Mathematics, Science, Design etc
  • To measure student’s performances and to monitor their progress, IB teachers use a range of assessment strategies
  • The board has more than 45 years of experience in the academic excellence and research
